Friends of Normanby School
Community links are strong, and the Friends of Normanby School (FoNS) assist the school with financial support and school events, such as the Summer fair and Fashion Shows! Support for these events is always really strong and we actively encourage all members of the community to come along and join in!
All parents are invited to take an active interest and should contact a member of the committee if they wish to know more. We are always looking for new members throughout the year, your support is very much appreciated in any way.
Monies raised have provided the school with equipment and resources that we would not usually be able to afford, this includes staging, lighting, an IPad for each classroom, an interactive white board, a new playground, computers and story sacks and Butterfly garden.
We pride ourselves in being a central and active part of the local community. We facilitate links wherever we can and part of our school mission is to,
‘Ensure that everyone feels valued in our community.’
We realise that the children we are lucky enough to educate at Normanby-by-Spital Primary, live not just in the village, but in the surrounding towns and villages. Which is why we are keen to ensure that they have a clear overview on the links that all of the places in the rural and urban community have and understand how they all support each other and work together.
Strong links with the Church are fostered. We welcome John Beverly from the Normanby Church and Jenny and Peter Atkinson from the Methodist Church as regular visitors into school.
We are lucky to have a Community Hall-this means we can offer it for hire to clubs and groups. The following events take place in our hall:
- Normanby Community Art Club meets every Friday 1.30 – 3.30pm during term time.
- The WI meet regularly in our hall, as do the Parish Council.
The hall is also available to let to outside bodies. Please contact the School Office for booking information.
